Kathy is an amazing person and one of the best friends you could have in your life, she had stuggled with a few issues... as we all do thorugh life, but Kathy was a fighter, her strong spirit is what kept that smile on her face no matter how hard times became. One thing I have always seen in Kathy was how much she loved her family. You see I have known Kathy now for 28 years going on 29 years, she was 8 years old when Kathy and the rest of the Pilgrim clan moved into Byrd Close, it was the summer holidays just before we started School at Wait End Middle School, she had short light brown hair with the classic "rats tail" at the back... loo.. we all did.. what can I say. Kathy had one sister Leeanne and two little brothers Wayne and Terry who was just about two years old or so at the time they moved in... Hayley came a few years later... Kathy was the big sister and she kept an eye on them at all times. We loved music... oh how we used to sing and dance in their living room, I can also remember on saturday mornings we would watch Gymnastics on TV and then lay all the soffa cushions on the floor and try and do the summer saults and all that crazy stuff... lol... We walked to school together almost every day, this was our time to just chat and get our feelings out. We started work together after we left School in 1990, Kathy got a job at Clinton Cards in Cascades, she worked very hard there and quickly became a valuable member of staff, on Saturdays I would meet her for lunch, oh how we talked!!! I looked forward to that, Kathy was the only person whom I really kept in touch with after we left school. When Kathy met Leroy she was so happy, I think that was the happiest I have ever seen her up to that point. I knew from the getgo that Kathy was head over heals for Leroy. That's all she ever wanted was to be a good Wife and Mum, and she saw her future with Leroy, he was her one and only true love. Kathy is my best friend always has been and always will be, I wanted her to be happy in life, and she was... she got everything she wanted, and that was LOVE.... I will miss my friend dearly. This world is not the same without Kathy, but Heaven is a better place because of Kathy. Sophie (Williams) Berg.
